A ROUND OF A-PAWS FOR....

HUGS ACROSS AMERICA is an interdenominational, not for profit, nationwide campaign. Their mission is to provide teddy bears for those in need of healing hugs. The charitable effort was founded by New York City teacher, Sue Lucarelli.

HUGS ACROSS AMERICA originated in 2002. The charity grew from an abundance of teddy bears gifted by compassionate individuals, corporations and organizations designated for children affected by the events of 9/11. Sue Lucarelli and the founding members were instrumental in seeing that those impacted by the horrific events of the day were recipients of the loving and healing power of the teddy bear gifts.

HUGS ACROSS AMERICA continues to respond to the needs of traumatized children and have collected and forwarded over 300,000 teddy bears since their inception in 2002. Today, they have over 80 active chapters in states across America.
